Filming in St James’s church Piccadilly, I found this to be one of the most rewarding projects I have ever worked on. Not only because of the difficulty in overcoming the technical challenges but due to the impact it made to the people involved. It raised over £40k in one evening.
A classical concert performance hosted by John Suchet streamed live. This concert has one goal: to help. All performers and helpers are giving their services free of charge; join us to hear some of the finest classical musicians in the world, and help transform the lives of those in need. All proceeds from the concert will go directly to the International Rescue Committee, to help with its work in Afghanistan.
I helped to design the livestreaming aspects of the project, then moved onto directing the show and story. In only 4 hours, situated in a church, I was tasked with technically and logistically broadcasting the orchestra live to a ticketed audience.
