Dustin Bugg seeks happiness in the simple act of collecting litter. However, as the pressures of ‘normal’ society catch up with him, he is forced to lose everything and so journey to new planes to rescue his only friend and restore his contented world.
‘Litter Bugg’ is a magical realism drama created by graduate students of The Arts University Bournemouth. A film that asks questions about the nature of identity and individualism, it is about those who are branded different and those who choose to follow risky dreams over the comfortable mundane.
As my last film at AUB this was my chance to really show what I was capable of as a filmmaker and producer. The film ran the festival circuit and premièred at Crystal Palace International Film Festival where it was nominated for best student film.
“A quirky, well acted tale of one isolated man’s mission to reclaim his life. Thought provoking and beautifully filmed, with stylish cinematography and atmospheric music. A pleasure to watch.” – The Open Door Showcase – 2016
“Litter Bugg is a wonderful foray into that Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet type of filmmaking: stylised, colourised and humble.”- The Monkey Bread Tree Film Awards – 2016
